Social media sensation Lele Pons on 'Surviving High School'

- Lele Pons, 19, is one of the biggest stars on the Internet.

On Vine, she has 10.8 million followers while on Instagram, five million people keep up with the Miami resident.

TIME magazine named Pons one of the most influential people on the Internet.

According to Pons, it all started during her junior year of high school when she posted a few Vine clips.

"It was a big deal when the loops came out and we saw who had the most loops and it was me," said Pons.

In her Vine videos, the Venezuelan native acts out funny skits where she is often getting hurt.

"I like relatable skits that can help other kids say what they don't want to say, I'll act out," said Pons.

Now, she's written a book, 'Surviving High School: Do It For The Vine.'

"When people see that someone is different from how they are they automatically judge you. I think I was very anti-social and very loud. People who were older than me would tease me and make fun of me," said Pons.

Various parts of the novel are based on Pons' life.

"The bullying part. The part about the boy I liked who became my best friend and at the end when I become a Viner. That's real," said Pons.
