NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has written a memoir, 'Let Me Finish.' In it, he writes about what he considers the misguided decision by President Donald Trump to order a government shutdown that only recently ended, 35 days later, with no border wall deal in place.
"He didn't have a plan," said Christie. "If you don't have a plan, professional politicians will eat you alive and that's exactly what Nancy Pelosi did."
He said he recommended to the president that he put a better strategy in place because Pelosi had no incentive to give in.
"It cost people 35 days of delayed pay, delays at airports, national parks and all the rest of it," said Christie.
While critical, Christie says all is not lost for Trump.
"He learned, though. We will see over the next three weeks if he will get better at it," Christie says. "He's a smart guy. I don't think he'll get rolled twice."
