Food craze 'donutccino' is part donut, part coffee

- The latest food craze following in the wake of the cronut and rainbow bagel appears to be the donutccino. Part donut, part coffee, the sweet treat is served only at Gossip Coffee in Astoria, Queens.

In honor of National Donut Day, the creator and a barista visited the Good Day Cafe to serve up the various flavors of the 'it' food item.

The donut-flavored, cold brew coffee is spruced up with whip cream, sprinkles and a mini-marble donut. 

The donutccino has been selling like hot cakes, with more than 1,000 sold in its first two weeks, according to creator and shop owner Scottish Francis.

Some of the flavors foodies have been flocking to try at the 30th Ave. eatery are pumpkin spice, almond Nutella, prosciutto Guinness and Maraschino cherry.

"The cold brew takes 16 hours to make. It is strained in the morning to make the most amazing coffee ever," said Francis.

He also points out that you can upgrade to a larger donut and even layer multiple donuts on the straw.
