NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Adam Levine, Alicia Keys, Jonah Hill, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid would likely all agree the superstars in their families are their mothers. Rosanna Scotto sat down with their mothers including a celebrity mom, Tamar Braxton, and her own mother, Marion Scotto, to talk about raising their children.
Sharon Feldstein (Adam Levine's mother); Patsy Noah (Jonah Hill's mother); and Terria Joseph (Alicia Keys' mother) have banned together to form the Your Mom Cares charity. The organization brings awareness to children's mental health wellness.
"It was a really important cause for our kids," said Feldstein. "We were very influenced by their passon for this. Our mission is essentially -we work with two partners, but we also have a local mom's fund where we keep the money for emergent causes like migrant families, Flint, Michigan, lead in the water."
For celebrity mom Tamar Braxton, she's focused on raising an honest son.
"First of all, I put him in Christian school just in case I skip over something or miss something," said Braxton. "It breeds you to be a good person."
Former model and reality start Yolanda Hadid said she's taken an old-fashioned approach to parenting.
"I always wanted to be a mother," said Hadid. "Being a mother was the greatest accomplishment I've ever had in my life. I removed them from Los Angeles. They were raised on a horse farm. Their foundation and who they are was created on a farm."
In the Scotto family, raising children went beyond their own siblings and children.
"Mother's Day to me means some aruging at the table, lots of food and talking about some of the memories," said Rosanna Scotto. "Growing up in Brooklyn, everybody in the neighborhood came over. It was friends who didn't have anywhere to go," said Rosanna.
'We both love what we do. My daughter and I are very much alike," said Marion Scotto.
