Alison Sweeney: say 'yes' to opportunities

- The back story to many successful people is a willingness to try new things.

"I love challenging myself," says Alison Sweeney. The actress, TV host and author is out with her third novel, 'Opportunity Knocks.'

The fictional stories Sweeney tells in her novels are based on true events.

"I love writing scenes about behind-the-scenes in Hollywood. I love picking out individual stories. This one is about a make-up artist and how she breaks into the industry. It’s really just a fun story about just how difficult people on camera can be," said Sweeney.

After getting her start in a TV commercial at the age of 4, the Los Angeles native moved on to star in the hit soap opera, 'Days of Our Lives' for nearly 20 years.

When she walked away from the show, Sweeney moved on to reality TV where she hosted the show, 'The Biggest Loser.'

Now, when she's writing, the mother of two grabs any moment to put her thoughts down on paper. Sometimes Sweeney sits to write with her children as they work on their own writing assignments.

'Opportunity Knocks' is now available in store and online.
