Actor comments on rash of New York City slashings

Actor Michael K. Williams, a one-time slashing victim, has a message for victims of the recent rash of slashings in New York City.

- An Oscars celebration on Friday's Good Day New York took a serious turn for a few minutes when actor Michael K. Williams addressed the rash of slashings that have taken place in New York City.

Williams, a one-time slashing victim himself, had a message for the victims of the recent attacks.

"As a fellow victim, time heals all wounds.  It will pass," Williams said.

He said he wanted to give a shout out and heartfelt word to all of the victims.

Williams says he was attacked in a Queens bar and was treated at Jamaica Hospital.  He has a large scar from the middle of his forehead down the right side of his face to his cheek.

"It takes me back to a very unhappy time in my life," Williams said about the near daily reports of slashings in the city.  "You have to let it go and count your blessings."

Williams was on the show to promote his upcoming Sundance Channel series 'Hap and Leonard'.
