NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Music super-producer L.A. Reid makes several very personal revelations in his new memoir, 'Sing to Me,' but one is particularly shocking, even to the veteran CEO of Epic Records.
"I dropped Lady Gaga. Did I really just say that?" said Reid during Good Day New York.
It was 2006 and the pop sensation was far from a household name.
Reid says it is his biggest professional regret to date.
"I feel a little bad about it. I do. I feel bad. I signed her. She comes in, she plays the piano, she’s incredible, she sings, I sign her, I tell her she’s going to change music. A couple of months later I say, ‘maybe I wasn’t right. Maybe I don’t like this so much and I make the biggest mistake of my career. I dropped Lady Gaga," said Reid.
The pair seem to be on good terms despite having ended their business relationship more than a decade ago.
"I saw her at the Grammys. She gave me a hug. It was really warm," said Reid.
