NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - With more than two million subscribers to her lifestyle channel on YouTube, Meghan Rienks, 22, knows something about success in the social media spectrum.
What might come as a surprise to some is that she doesn't watch her own videos.
"I edit my own videos but I’m half watching. I think I sound so much more annoying,” said Reinks.
The northern California native's foray into YouTube began during high school when she came down with Mononucleosis, the "kissing virus."
“I was mainly mostly bored so I made YouTube videos. I occupied my time. By the time I was over mono (nine months later), I had developed this YouTube channel,” said Reinks.
The self-deprecating sensation shares everything from dating advice, to cooking and baking tips with her viewers.
She is also a beauty correspondent for Estee Lauder on the comestic giant's YouTube channel.
“I’m not afraid to make fun of myself. I think people can relate to that,” said Rienks. "I think getting dating advice from a 22 year old I think is more honest and helpful then getting it from somebody older."
Of the many comments and questions Rienks receives from viewers, one of the most popular is about self-confidence and how to achieve it.
“You don’t feel great all the time. You just can’t let it be a crippling thing," said Rienks.
