Beyonce's style director on controversial Super Bowl outfit

Stylist Ty Hunter, director of fashion for Beyonce, introduces viewers to his new product for taking selfies, the Ty Lyte.

- Entertainer Beyonce has been slammed by some police and politicians who say her Super Bowl 50 half-time performance was a salute to the Black Panthers party and was anti-cop.

Others say, the performer was paying homage to pop-legend Michael Jackson, particularly with her outfit featuring what looks like bullets (similar to a costume worn by the late singer.)

Ty Hunter, Beyonce's style director, weighed in on the outfit during Good Day NY on Thursday.

“I loved the Michael Jackson look. Check out Michael Jackson, it’s the same thing. It’s crazy how it’s a big story,” said Hunter.

The Austin, Texas native has been working with Beyonce for 16 years, since her days in Destiny's Child.

While he did not have a say in the Super Bowl costume, he said the designer, Marni, did a fantastic job.

“It’s all a team work thing. She has in her mind what she wants and then we got to bring it to life. We got to go in there and make everything work,’ said Hunter.
