NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - From actor to director, Paul Bettany is behind the lens in his latest work role. "I thought I'd give it a go. It's my first time," said Bettany.
'Shelter' was inspired by a homeless couple he often saw in lower Manhattan but never again after Superstorm Sandy.
"To be honest, they had disappeared to me before that. Slowly their poverty became more acceptable to me. I felt a lot of shame surrounding that. I wanted to make a film about judgment and how as a culture we're being entrenched in a world with black and white positions," said Bettany.
'Shelter' stars Jennifer Connelly (Bettany's wife) and Anthony Mackie.
