NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Author and entertainer Mitch Albom has written his seventh novel, 'The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto.' For the first time, Albom's book comes with a soundtrack.
"It's (about) a fictional musician. He's the greatest guitar player to walk the earth. He's so gifted. He suffers so much as a child. He's granted a magic guitar that can change the lives of people over the course of his life. Everything else in the book is real," said Albom.
Wynton Marsalis, Tony Bennett, Burt Baccarat, Ingrid Michaelson and others let Albom use their voice.
"They ended up making some videos. Burt Bacarat was crying saying he missed Frankie," said Albom.
The stars speak convincingly about a fictitious character.
"I think they all participated in it because they feel that music is this incredible language and it speaks on a whole different level. There not many books that address it. They all really jumped at the idea to participate," said Albom.
