NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Celebrity baker Duff Goldman got his start in the fast food industry.
"I was in college and I wanted to be a chef and I went to this really nice restaurant in Baltimore and said I want to be a chef," said Goldman.
The head chef asked him to show credentials and he replied he didn't have any but could make hamburgers.
"I said I worked at McDonald's and Burger King and pizza joints. I can make 12 Big Macs in under a minute. She said you're a nice guy and I'll hire you to bake corn bread and biscuits for two years," said Goldman.
After two years were up, Goldman enrolled in pastry school and the rest is history.
Goldman has gone one to star in his own reality show, Ace of Cakes.
The popular baker is also out with his newest book, Duff Bakes: Think and Bake Like a Pro at Home.
"Everything from pretzels to pickled pepper cornbread," said Goldman.
