NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - The hit FOX series, Gotham, about the years before the arrival of 'Batman,' returns Oct. 12 at 8 p.m. for season two. Actor Michael Chiklis, who plays Capt. Nathaniel Barnes, says it's going to be "big" with "huge effects." There will also be a new face in the mix-- Paul Reubens (aka Pee-Wee Herman)- who will play Penguin's father.
“It’s a little blown up and larger than life but it has to be, you’re dealing with Penguin,” said Chiklis.
For Penguin's father--Reubens is stepping into familiar ground. He appeared as 'Tucker Cobblepot' in 1992’s 'Batman Returns.'
For Chiklis, who is more accustomed to leading roles ('The Commissh,' 'The Shield,) 'Gotham' brings an enjoyable break from the routine.
“It’s nice for a change to not be number one on the call sheet. I’m not the one carrying the show. I get to come, do some really good work and then go out and enjoy New York and see some really great shows. I’ve been seeing all the Broadway shows and concerts. You forget how isolated L.A. can be," said the California resident.
