Wander Burger Recipe

8 oz Pat La Frieda Burger Patty
1 Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
Kosher Salt and Cracked Black Pepper to Season
1 Slice Yellow American Cheese
3 Slices of Ricks Picks Pickles
2 Tablespoons Onion Bacon Jam (recipe to follow)
1 Tablespoon Special Sauce (recipe to follow)
1 Brioche Bun From Balthazar Bakery toasted


Season both sides of the burger patty with salt and pepper.
Brush one side only with the Dijon mustard. Grill the burger beginning with the mustard side down, and cook to
your liking. Top with the American cheese and allow to melt. Place the burger on a toasted brioche bun and finish with pickles, onion bacon jam, and special sauce.

Special Sauce:
1 Cup Hellman’s Mayo
1/3 Cup Heinz Ketchup
1/3 Cup Jarred Pickle Relish
2 Tablespoons Sherry Vinegar
1 Small Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
¼ Cup Diced Chives
1 Teaspoon Texas Smoked Paprika
1 Clove of Garlic Minced
1 Medium Shallot Minced
Kosher Salt and Cracked Black Pepper to Season

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and refrigerate.

Allow to sit for 1 hour before serving.

Onion Bacon Jam:
2 Spanish Onions Sliced
2 Tablespoons Butter
½ Tablespoon Sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1/4 Cup of Your Favorite BBQ Sauce
3 Slices of Thick Cut Cooked Bacon Diced (and the reserved
bacon fat from cooking)
1 teaspoon crushed anchioves

In a sauce pot melt the butter with the sugar and the salt. Add the sliced onions and cook on low until golden brown, stirring every few minutes to prevent scorching. Add the bacon, bacon fat, and BBQ sauce. Allow to cook for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
