NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Could all the gadgets people regularly use be the reason millions are having trouble sleeping night in and night out? Actress Christina Applegate says she's one of the insomniacs of the world and she's pointing fingers at her mobile phone, tablet and other devices.
"I don’t sleep. I’m not exactly sure why. I’m working now to pinpoint why I have had insomnia most of my adult life,” said Applegate,44.
The mother to a five-year-old girl says falling asleep is easy, it's staying asleep that has become a major health concern for her.
"I can fall asleep, but then I'm up every two hours," said Applegate.
As she tries to get to the bottom of her insomnia, Applegate has improved her "sleep hygiene."
She recommends following these steps:
1. Put technology away 2 hours before bed
3. Make sure your room is cool
4. Go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time, every day
