NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A Cathay Pacific jumbo jet was sent back to the factory after a huge spelling mistake was made on its exterior.
The "f" in Pacific was not painted on the plane's fuselage. The Hong Kong-based commercial airline posted a photo to social media of the misspelling on Wednesday.
The caption read: "Oops this special livery won’t last long! She’s going back to the shop!"
The error will likely cost several thousands of dollars to fix, reported the South China Morning Post.
An engineer for a sister company of the airline told the paper that he was baffled by the mistake was made.
“The spacing is too on-point for a mishap. We have stencils. Should be a blank gap in between letters if it was a real mistake I think,” the engineer said.
