'Zoolander No. 2' premieres in New York

Fifteen years after the world first watched Derek Zoolander walk a runway, a purple carpet at Lincoln Center hosted a parade of models to announce his return.

The evil DJ from the first film joined the real-life Skrillex to co-spin a real surprise fashion before the premiere of "Zoolander No. 2."

Stiller admitted to always wanting a sequel, writing the first script of this new movie back in 2005.

Billy Zane returned to play himself. As did Will Ferrell's Mugatu. The sequel also welcomes some new characters. Kristin Wiig plays a villain suffering from too much plastic surgery. And Penelope Cruz is an Interpol agent.

Just as its first iteration did, "Zoolander No. 2" features a seemingly endless procession of celebrity cameos.

Yes actor-writer-director stiller even conned Neil deGrasse Tyson into appearing in his movie.

Hansel and Derek toured the world to promote this film walking during fashion week in Paris and posing as mannequins in Rome.

And so 15 years later, beside the nearly complete original cast, stiller steps into a world in which Derek and Hansel aren't so hot any longer to reprise a role he describes as one of his favorites.
