Cast of Broadway's 'The Crucible'

Broadway's new rendition of the Arthur Miller classic "The Crucible" showcases the tribulations around the Salem Witch Trials. Written by Miller in 1953 at the height of McCarthyism, the show is still as relevant as ever.

The all-star cast includes Saoirse Ronan, recently awarded an Oscar nomination for her role in "Brooklyn." In her role as the Abigail Williams, one of the central accusers during the trials, Ronan's acting evolves in a way that it can't on screen. Don't be fooled by Ronan's accent. She is a New Yorker at heart. She was born in the Bronx but was raised in Ireland.

John and Elizabeth Proctor, both among the accused, are played by Ben Whishaw and Sophie Okonedo whose on-stage connection is instantly palpable. For Okonedo, a multifaceted heritage helps her portray her character with verisimilitude.

Rounding out the cast is Tavi Gevinson, who rose to fame as the teenage face of fashion blog Style Rookie.

"The Crucible" limited engagement runs through July 17, 2016, at the Walter Kerr Theater.
